Hello,

I am planning to participate in the ski to sea cross country leg of the
race. I am wondering about the level of difficulty as I am a very novice
skier. Is there a lot of down hill or elevation gain? Is this a course
that can be skied in advance for practice? Any other information about this
leg would be appreciated to help prepare for it.

Thank you,
K. Parker

Kiam

Your concerns about the course are shared by many other racers, yet (as Mel said) 999 out of 1000 have a great time. That being said, the course has more up and down than most cross-country ski area trails, and conditions can be anything from slush to ice.

The great news, however, is that Ski to Sea is about participating and being part of a team. Many folks who do the cross-country ski leg have not been on cross-country skis prior to the race. My recommendations would be to show up and have a grand time.
