All runners should be aware of and expect the following. Participants should dress for warmth while waiting for their skier. The transition area for the start of their leg on the mountain is usually cold and possibly rainy, dressing warmly will help prevent muscle injuries. Runners will be running down hill for approximately the entire course except the last quarter of a mile which will be slightly uphill to the finish line and bicycle transition area.

This last quarter mile has a very traumatic effect on the muscles of the legs, and runners need to pace themselves and mentaly prepare themselves for the transition from downhill to uphill.

There will be three water stations on the course and they should be sure to take water at these stations. Runners should stay in the right hand lane of the course as emergency or police vehicles may be using the road to come up the mountain.

There will be a runners meeting at 8:35 am right after the start of the race on May 25.
